1. MING NOMCHONG / THE DRIFTER BLOG
There is something about Ming’s images that take you to another place. They are soft and simple but so sharp and have a gentle, magical feel to them. Living in Byron Bay, Ming doesn’t have a hard time finding a picturesque backdrop especially around The Pass and Wategoes Beach. She’s been picked up by a number of big brands to shoot surf and lifestyle for magazines, catalogues and fashion as well, she’s a pretty decent slider to boot.
2. HOLLY SHOEBRIDGE / HOLLYTREEPHOTO
Holly is based in Manly on Sydney’s Northern beaches. She captures sunrise like no one else. Using speed blur on the surface of the ocean whilst the colours of dawn are at their brightest, Holly creates some unreal works of art using the ocean and the sky’s colours to change our perspective. You’ll be hard to find a photographer who has perfected speed blur and dawn colouring as well as Holly.
3. MIKALA WILBOW / CLASSIC STYLE
You know those days in the water when you look down and the clarity of the water stops you and you realise how lucky you are to be a surfer? Mikala captures those moments with the camera in a way that no one else does. When you see her work it’s pretty much exactly, if not better than that day. Her images are capture a perfect mellow mood and remind you how precious and the ocean is and how surfing experience is unique.
