TARGET Sponsors ASP Womens Maui Pro

Target Maui Pro

The ASP named a number of additional tour stops this year and Target has come to the table taking the title sponsorship of the final stop on the 2014 Samsung Galaxy ASP Women’s World Championship Tour in Maui.

Target sponsors a number of world touring surfers, like 2x world title holder Carissa Moore, but this event will be their first involvement with an event as a primary sponsor. Not only is Target a massive international brand with stores all over the world, since 1946 they have given 5 percent of their profit to communities, that giving equals more than $4 million a week.

The additional events in the women’s tour means more chance for the top surfers in the world to prove they are number one. The Hawaiian women’s events were taken off the tour a few years ago and it’s fantastic to see that the girls can finish their year off in Surfing’s traditional homeland once again.

Honoloua Bay is famous for its consistent hollow right handers and long rides and has previously been an event on the women’s world tour where Carissa Moore has only been a wild card. This year she will most likely be defending her title to win #3. “These are easily some of the best waves on the planet and they’re set in the most beautiful location,” Moore said. “Honolua Bay is the ideal platform for the ASP Top 17 to perform upon and I can’t thank Target enough for supporting us there.”

THANKS FOR SUPPORTING WOMEN’S SURFING TARGET!
