Swatch Girls Pro Day 1
Small but fun conditions for day 1 of competition in Seignosse, France at the Swatch Girls Pro. The 6 star event had a line-up of some of the best surfers in the world and the girls building their points on the World Qualifying Series to snag a spot on the World Tour, in which Silvana Lima is currently number one.
The clean 2 foot conditions meant the starting pool of 84 surfers was rapidly culled as the event moved through efficiently round by round. The event was stopped half way through round 3 with only 18 surfers left in contention for the win.
Hawaii’s Tatiana Weston-Webb has cruised through to round 4 with Nikki Van Dijk and Ellie-Jean Coffee as well as young Queenslander Keely Andrew with Laura Enever who scraped through to the next round. Day 2 will conclude round 4 of the QS and round 3 of the Juniors crowning the winner in the next couple of days.
Fresh from her win at the British Boardmasters last week English girl Keshia Eyre is through to round 4 of the Juniors contest as well as New Zealand’s rising star Ella Williams. We will watch closely as the juniors continue to impress with their hunger and determination.
