Long Beach Kommetjie Cape Town, was the location for the 2014 South African Billabong Pro Juniors. With pristine offshore conditions but small 1-2 foot waves allowed the girls put on a show. The event is the second in the three-part Junior series that takes place across the country, and it is also the 50th Billabong Junior Series event to take place in South Africa over the last 17 years.

Power sisters Emma and Gina Smith were dominant right through their heats and into the finals of the under 20s with Emma taking the finals win. Gina Smith said “I got super busy (in the semis) because with such few waves every minute counts, and it was actually pretty fun. This contest has been amazing, and everyone’s super-stoked here at the event.”

Congratulations to all the girls for a tricky but well surfed competition.
