Over a week in Portugal has produced a number of mixed emotions for the girls with good waves it was early that tour #1 Alexandra Rinder was eliminated from the competition but this only allowed her rivals to push hard to dominate the rest of the event.

Isabela Sousa, Ayaka Susuki, Sari Oh’hara all held tight to score some epic waves through the quarter finals and making for fantastic beach viewing. (Even from the live webcast in Portuguese)

Praia Grande, Sintra, Portugal.

The final came down to 2 Brazillian girls who had been red hot all event, Isabela Sousa and Jessica Becker who put up their all for the event’s top spot. Isabela, however solidified some high scoring waves to put her an arms length away from Jessica. With the final results Isabela 16.75 to 13.6 for Jessica. A well fought finals and great viewing for world class women’s sport.

The final result didn’t move the top spot on the World Tour Ladder however with ALEXANDRA RINDER claiming victory as the new world champ and being the youngest in history at a energetic and determined 16 years old from the Canary Isalnds. She has talent so far beyond her years and a gentle maturity that is sure to build the momentum and level of the sport over the next few years- HOW EXCITING!!!
