Sally has a crazy energy for innovation and content creation. A mother, lover, surfer, designer and tertiary trained journalist she believes that there are so many inspirational girls of the sea and wants to build a reputable brand to help others thrive and be inspired by their greatness. We all love dry salty hair, sand in our ears and the feeling of total water-logged satisfaction.

Sally started The Mermaid Society in 2013 after the birth of her daughter, Rae. She works tirelessly to find and bring the world as much news and information on girls and women’s surf/beach related activities as humanly possible. Her aim is for The Mermaid Society to be the go-to collaborative news and results site for girls surf and beach sports all around the world.

For two years she has been the editor of Australia’s premier surf app and coastal website Coastalwatch, where she developed vital skills to relaunch The Mermaid Society bigger and better. She is now creating women’s content and working as a digital producer full time as well as commentating at Junior and Qualifying Series events in Australia.

Her new found 30-year-old wisdom is that you should not to look for happiness but to enjoy the things that make you happy in your every day life – like a blissful day in the sea, surfing with friends and family and appreciating what you have not what you don’t.

To Sally, the sea is in her blood and what keeps her grounded on even the craziest of days.
