This weekend Maroubra in Sydney played host to the Carve Junior Pro for the boys and the Ocean & Earth Teenage Rampage for the Under 16 and 14s categories. Sydney had an unexpected south swell this week providing clean peaks and workable banks for the girls to get busy throughout their heats. The swell was 1-2 foot and the water a delicious 22 degrees Celsius.

The Under-16 Girls rivalry has never been so hot with the top surfers meeting again for a high intensity final with Kirra-Belle Olsson cruising to a solid victory over her rivals today. Olsson wasn’t going to let her competitors go quietly and slammed a 9.00 wave score to defeat top junior Macy Callaghan.

Cedar Leigh-Jones is on fire with her 2nd event win in just one week making the Under-14 Girls final an enjoyable one to watch. With a number of continuous high scoring manoeuvres, Cedar made her presence felt early making sure she wast on top of the numbers game agains fellow finalist Charlie Hursy, Summer Sumon and Jesse Starling. Cedar’s top points were a 11.16 (out of 20 points).
