NSW State Junior Titles Results u18 and u16s

The NSW Junior State Championships presented by NRMA National Roads and Motorists Association has been held all week up at Bonny Hills and Watonga Rocks (in Port Macquarie) on the Mid-North Coast.

The girls couldn’t have been better conditions for the girls with the swell slowly dropping from the monstrous 8-10 foot on the weekend settling to a perfect 2-4 foot off shore conditions most of the week. There were big clean walls for everyone to bring everything they had to the table, in the race to be crowned the 2014 State Junior Champ and earn a spot to represent NSW at the Australian Titles in November in Western Australia.

HOLLY WAWN has won her 3rd consecutive State Junior Title after a killer run on the junior circuit over the last 24 months taking out 90% of her entered events Holly is stoked to be on the NSW state team leading into the Aussie Titles she says  “It’s pretty awesome (winning my 3rd title), and it feels really good to win another on top of winning the under 18’s  today after I had won the school state title earlier this week.

She will train up with the state team and head to Yallingup in Western Australia and says “I have never been to WA so it will be awesome to compete in hopefully some solid conditions.” Expect to see headlines with Holly’s name she’s got natural talent and the complete box of tricks in the water. MACY CALLAGHAN was another stand out performer of the week with a 1st and 2nd place in the Schools Titles and 1st in the Under 16s State Juniors Title in each of her entered divisions Surfing NSW spoke to Macy after her wins “I’m so stoked,” said Callaghan. “I just really wanted to catch those longer lefts and thankfully my tactic worked. It’s weird to surf heat against my best friend [Olsen], but it’s just nice we both made the final.”

* Under 12 and 14s finals still to be run.
