Off shore and 2-3 foot conditions greeted girls of the Northern Beaches of Sydney battle it out in great Autumn conditions backing up after the Junior School Titles last week. The winners of each division represent their region at the State Titles in July. NSW boasts some of Australia’s best up and coming surfers and even at the grass-roots level the girls are producing performances that could, on any day be worthy of top level contention.

The Northern Beaches Regionals were at Long Reef beach and were lucky enough to pick up the swell coming in on what was an average day at most other beach breaks. They were lucky to grab some bowley lefts and running rights for Saturday with Sunday conditions dropping off but still holding.

The 12s it was a domination time by super Cedar Leigh-Jones with a massive 14.83 on the final scoreboard in her warm up for the Under 14s final.

In the 14s Bella Grainger found 2 of the set waves of the day and pulled out 2 left handers with really nice snap on the lip and finished both waves off well.

In the 16s Bodhi Leigh-Jones secured her win with a combo with two huge 8 point scores where she linked a series of critical turns up to 5 turns on one wave. You’re seeing top level speed, power and flow from this Northern Beaches super grom.

Alysse Cooper did a combo of her own on Saturday in the under 18’s final. Alysse is really confident and capable beyond her years in the water making each wave look effortless.
