THREAD THE NEEDLE POSE

HOW TO GET INTO THE POSE:

Start in table top position- knees under hips and hands under shoulders.

Take your right hand and thread it between your left hand and knees, keeping the palm facing up, and bring the right side of your face to the mat.

Gently press your left hand into the mat to feel the space behind your right shoulder start to stretch.

Relax your head and release through your neck as you draw your hips into alignment.

If you want to get a bit deeper you can lift your left hand towards the sky to spiral the right shoulder open even more but be sure to keep the hips in alignment and neck relaxed.

Hold for several breaths releasing the same way you came in.

Once back in table top repeat on the left side.

BENEFITS:

Thread the needle is a great upper body opener stretching the shoulders and upper back as well as neck. Great for those who tend to hold tension around the neck and shoulders or surfers with tight upper backs. Enjoy!
