Best conditions hitting the Eastern seaboard of Australia this weekend with no shortage of swell at Yamba (Northern NSW) for the Australian Skin Cancer Clinics NSW Longboard Titles presented by HIF.
The girls over 3 divisions demonstrated some of the highest longboard abilities around with progressive precision and smooth traditional manoeuvres. The waves were perfect for the event with a 3-4 foot swell and light off-shore winds. The girls had a surfer’s playground to bring their best to the table.
In the Open Women’s divisions it was unstoppable Lara Murphy coming straight off the back of her Snowy McAlister win in Manly to take the state title win for the 2nd consecutive year. Lara’s mix of traditional and modern moves are a pleasure to watch as she slides across the waves and walks the length of the board before hanging her toes off the front.
Lara said after her 2nd state title win today “I’m so stoked to win my 2nd State Title and am looking forward to Nationals! The event was really fun and we got some nice waves a bit more size to work with than the last couple of comps!”
Congratulations to Tully White for outstanding performances in both the Open Women’s final and taking the 2nd place in the Under 18s. As well Deb Allen who took charge in the Over 25s division finding the best waves to make her moves for the day.
