Keely Andrew Wins Swatch Girls Pro Juniors
The small waves continue in Seignosse, France but the Swatch Girls Pro Junior finals were on and the girls were at their best in the French sunshine.
The conditions were tough for the girls with the 1 foot waves but they all kept busy in the finals line up with each of them posting more than 10 waves each. Mahina Maeda from Hawaii posted the highest score of the day with a 7.5 but unfortunately an interference call meant she slid narrowly into 3rd place.
Keely Andrew picked up 2 scores over 5 with some tight turns and snaps, that secured her win ahead of fellow Aussie Holly-Sue Coffey, Mahina Maeda and Mikaela Greene.
Keely said after her win … “All my attention was always on the QS but this is a nice bonus to pick-up along the way. The standard of women’s surfing at the moment is so high, I’m going to have to step it up again and find enough motivation!”
