Ellen Wood Wins 2015 South Side Skimboard Shoot Out

The 2015 South Side Shoot Out was held at ‘South Side’ on the Indian River inlet at Dewey Beach, Delaware on the US West Coast. This event is the 2nd on the 2015 schedule of the United Skim Tour which covers venues in the USA, Mexico and Brazil.

20 year old Ellen Wood took 2nd place at the Vilano Beach event in 2014 as her first year as a pro and came into this year in good form.

The South Side Shoot out scored a swell and brought in bigger than expected conditions for the girls. Elle said “The conditions weren’t the best but we still had fun. The waves were pretty big for Delaware shore break. The sets were coming in at around 3-5 foot with an onshore wind keeping the swell up.”

In the final Ellen pulled out a backside wrap to backside 360 and backside liner to 180 shuv it to secure her win agains Pro Tour champion Casey Kiernan.
