27th September 2015 – The first event of the Australian Rip Curl GromSearch presented by Posca was held at Maroubra beach over the weekend after a two day delay thanks to a huge Southerly swell whipping up some nasty conditions.

The girls took to the water on Saturday with the completion of the under 16s round that was dominated by Macy Callaghan in some 4-5 foot swell. The event continued through some hefty rain and wind and as the swell dropped and then picked up again on Sunday the 12s and 14s finished up.

Congrats to Summa Longbottom in the 12s for a gallant effort and Piper Harrison who travelled down from Queensland to take the win in the 14s girls division. Most girls have also spent the last week competing in similar conditions at the 2015 BLs Blast Off. Solid effort and great surfing by everyone.
